Learning Experiences

So let us play with the dictionary again, Education, “the knowledge and development resulting from an educational process.” I think the biggest thing people tend to forget is that there is a development that happens in the educational process. You start as someone with a narrower view on the world and develop in to someone who not only knows more but is a little more matured.

This development isn’t all just learning the interactions with people during education, whether good or bad, is really part of the educational experiences. I think what I’m trying to get at is people have the right to make fun of others…. It is an elementary learning experience. Hopefully people grow up and learn to function with the rest of society but if they have a less likely hood of progressing.

What is a Job???

All I hear on the news lately is talk about jobs, we need them, they are going away, obama is going to make millions of them with a trillion dollars, etcs… But, what is a job and why do we need them? I still have yet to find someone who can really answer those questions…

Well let us start with the dictionary... Webster has a lot of definitions for “Job” such as “plastic surgery for cosmetic purposes” or “an undertaking that requires unusual exertion”; but the definition I think that fits the best for its use in the mainstream media is “a small miscellaneous piece of work undertaken on order at a standard rate.”

The reason I picked this definition is that people want to be told what to do and want to walk out of work with no responsibilities. If they are not getting paid they are not thinking about work; it’s something they get paid 8 hours a day to do and anytime past 40 in a week they should be compensated time and a half. I find this contrary to what I think work is about… I have what I consider a position.. which doesn’t really have a definition I like.. but contrary to a “job” it is a responsibility within the company I work. When it comes down to my responsibility the buck stops at me… and I have to make decisions… and think about things after 4-5pm and put in the extra hours to finish what needs to be done.

This leads in to the need for good education… but I think I need to complain about the current education before I finish this...

Up Winged?

I guess it is my play on the Libertarian diamond with conservatives on the right, liberals on the left, statists downward, and libertarians upward. So, I guess you can understand where I land on that plot.

To Start

I’ve had a lot of ideas in my head lately about how about how things should be in the world and I decided that I need to start writing them down. An off the shelf dictionary is so last century, a little cliché, plus I can’t read my hand writing. So, I guess a “blog” is the way to go… even though I hate that word.

I guess because it’s right in front of us and ready to take off… these early topics will focus on Obama-care, I mean the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
